Notes

'Vanguard' rose (Rosa 'Vanguard') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Fragrant orange-pink flowers open from early to late summer, and bees visit them. Rust can be a problem, so give it good air flow. Glendon A. Stevens bred it in 1932.

Pairs well with Buckeye Belle peony, Italian cypress, and Anemone.
