Notes

'Vanilla Shake' peony (Paeonia 'Vanilla Shake') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers have cream-white outer petals around a vanilla center, and stems reach about 30 inches for cutting. Joshua Scholten bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Fragrant Bouquet hosta, Black Hero tulip, Sedge, and Indian Summer rudbeckia.
