Notes
'Variegata' water iris (Iris laevigata 'Variegata') is a perennial for borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist to wet, loamy or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It forms a clump 24 to 36 inches tall and blooms in spring, summer, and autumn. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Candelabra primrose, Aurea tufted sedge, and Rozanne crane's-bill.
