Notes
'Aurea' tufted sedge (Carex elata 'Aurea') is a grass for borders, containers, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The evergreen clumps arch to 18 to 30 inches tall and wide. It is drought tolerant and easy to keep. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Cardinal flower, Bottlebrush buckeye, and Ostrich fern.
