Notes

'Variety Club' rose (Rosa 'Variety Club') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Orange-red blooms are fragrant and appear in late spring, summer, and early autumn. Bees visit the flowers, and the glossy, dark green leaves make a good backdrop. Samuel Darragh bred it in 1965.

Pairs well with Amsonia, Switchgrass, Jackmanii clematis, and Bluebell.
