Notes

'Venus in the Shell' peony (Paeonia 'Venus in the Shell') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Semi-double mid-pink flowers are fragrant and fade to light pink with cream-white edges. Plants grow upright, so they need no support. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Guacamole hosta, Nodding onion, and Sedge.
