Notes
'Verdon' hinoki cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Verdon') is a tree for specimen planting, rock gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays small, reaching 36 to 60 inches tall and 18 to 36 inches wide. This evergreen has a broad habit and grows at a moderate rate, so it keeps color in the garden all year.
Pairs well with Wintergreen, Sedge, Christmas fern, and Foam flower.
