Notes

'Viking Valor' peony (Paeonia 'Viking Valor') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, scarlet red double blooms open on sturdy stems and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Pehrson bred it, and the foliage stays attractive after bloom.

Pairs well with Big Daddy hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Pink Impression tulip, and Quick Fire panicle hydrangea.
