Notes
'Violet Queen' zinnia (Zinnia elegans 'Violet Queen') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and containers. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast to 24 to 36 inches tall and draws butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Drought tolerance makes it easy to grow.
Pairs well with Spider flower, Snapdragon, and First Knight fountain grass.
