Notes

'Virgo Maria' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Virgo Maria') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears double white blooms that make a bright show in the garden and in a vase. Jacques Calot bred it in 1925.

Pairs well with Invincibelle Ruby smooth hydrangea, Charles Joly lilac, Stargazer lily, and Garlic chives.
