Notes
'Viviani' black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta 'Viviani') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it. It sits low on the menu for deer. It grows fast and tolerates drought and salt.
Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Indian grass, and Nodding onion.
