Notes
'Vixen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Vixen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The deep pink blooms have a light pink center and open in early summer. Each stem carries 2 to 3 buds and stands up well. William Henry Krekler bred it.
Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Aromatic aster, and Tall fescue.
