Notes
'Volker Schmidt' peony (Paeonia 'Volker Schmidt') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Baby pink, fluted petals form a large single flower that fades to cream with age. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows upright to 43 inches and needs no support.
Pairs well with Autumn Frost hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Polish Spirit clematis.
