Notes

'Wally Z.' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Wally Z.') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large light pink petals edge to silver, and red touches the guard petals. Pleated petals give the flower a full look on stiff stems. Col. Jesse C. Nicholls bred it in 1959.

Pairs well with Knapweed, Carnaval De Nice tulip, Royal fern, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
