Notes

'Waseca' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Waseca') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The flowers are single and open in a peculiar shade of deep maroon red. The color is distinct, so it stands out in a bouquet or a bed.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Pincushion flower, and Miss Kim lilac.
