Notes
'Watchman' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Watchman') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The tall stems carry white single blooms in late spring. Each flower is nicely cupped, usually with one row of petals and green carpels. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.
Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Queen of Night tulip, and Sweet William.
