Notes

'White Beauty' California fawnlily (Erythronium californicum 'White Beauty') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Clusters of white flowers with yellow centers rise over green-mottled leaves in early to late spring, and bees visit them. It goes dormant before summer, so plant it near late-emerging perennials like hostas. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Humpback Whale hosta, Pacific bleeding heart, and Autumn crocus.
