Notes
Dimpled trout lily (Erythronium umbilicatum) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Yellow flowers open in late winter and carry on through spring, and bees visit them. The leaves are green with brown, copper, or purple marks. It stays small at 4 to 10 inches tall.
Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Snowdrop, and Lenten rose.
