Notes

'White Emperor' peony (Paeonia 'White Emperor') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, semi-double white blooms have cream centers and light purple flares on strong stems. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Hans Peter Sass bred it as a sport of 'Yellow Emperor'.

Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Nodding onion, and Sedge.
