Notes

'White Surprise' peony (Paeonia 'White Surprise') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double white flowers have a light pink flush at the base of the petals. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Many side buds extend the bloom season, and the plants stay upright without support.

Pairs well with Eastern columbine, Guacamole hosta, Nodding onion, and Sedge.
