Notes
'Wissel' lawson's cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Wissel') is an evergreen tree for accent planting in rock gardens, courtyards, patios, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Its twisting, upswept branches look like the arms of a saguaro cactus. It grows slowly and can reach 6 to 8 feet in 10 years. Plant it in well-drained soil and take care not to damage the roots.
Pairs well with Japanese maple, Japanese spirea, and Grape hyacinth.
