Notes

Woodbine (Clematis virginiana) is a vine for pollinator gardens, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet soil of most types. Small white flowers appear in clusters, and feathery plumes follow them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The vine climbs by twisting its leaf stalks, so give it wire or a narrow support.

Pairs well with Black gum, Sensitive fern, and Winterberry.
