Notes

Blue jasmine (Clematis crispa) is a vine for specimen planting, pollinator gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Small, nodding, lightly fragrant flowers open in pale blue to violet and hang like urns, followed by fluffy seed heads that birds enjoy. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Give the vine a support to climb.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Hardy hibiscus, and Big bluestem.
