Notes
'Xanthocarpa' dogwood (Cornus Florida 'Xanthocarpa') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, shade gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. White flowers open from early to late spring, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit them.
Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Christmas fern, and Autumn fern.
