Notes

'Zebrina' western arborvitae (Thuja plicata 'Zebrina') is a tree for hedges, privacy screens, specimen planting, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The columnar form grows at a moderate pace and stays evergreen all year. The fragrant foliage also draws birds.

Pairs well with River birch, Chokeberry, Ostrich fern, and Prairie dropseed.
