'Zhildiz' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Zhildiz') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, deep pink double flowers open in mid to late spring. Each stem carries one to three upward facing buds. The blooms are heavy, so you can add light support during full flowering.
Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Sensitive fern.
