'Abokiu' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Abokiu') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Give it a spot where you can enjoy the blooms up close. You can cut stems for indoor vases and bring the garden inside. Plant it in a border where it can anchor the bed.

Pairs well with Susan magnolia, Woodland phlox, Stargazer lily, and Wild ginger.
