Notes
'Accent' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Accent') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it in 1979. The fragrant, dark red flowers are full rose types of medium size. They sit on 30-inch stems above tough, dark green leaves.
Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Royal fern, and Spotted dead nettle.
