Notes

'Admiration' crabapple (Malus halliana 'Admiration') is a tree for use as a specimen. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its columnar shape suits narrow spaces, and it grows slowly. Light pink flowers open from early to late spring and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It is self-fertile, so one tree can set fruit alone.

Pairs well with Ruby Spice sweet pepperbush, Gladiator ornamental onion, Poppy mallow, and Buffalo grass.
