Notes

'Akebono' bishop's hat (Epimedium 'Akebono') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland plantings, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil of most types. Bees visit it, and it tolerates drought once settled. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall.

Pairs well with Lady fern, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Sum and Substance hosta.
