Notes

'Alain' rose (Rosa 'Alain') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Its fragrant, medium red flowers open in late spring, again in summer, and in early autumn, and bees visit them. Francis Meilland bred it in 1948 and named it for his son.

Pairs well with Bartzella peony, Korean spice viburnum, and Lily.
