Notes

'Album' culver’s root (Veronicastrum virginicum 'Album') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rain gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its white spires with pink stamens rise above whorled leaves in late summer, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Plants bulk up into larger clumps with time.

Pairs well with Joe-pyeweed, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Indian Summer rudbeckia.
