Notes

'Alexander von Humboldt' rose (Rosa 'Alexander von Humboldt') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. It grows 9 to 12 feet tall, so give it room to climb or sprawl. Fragrant, medium red flowers open from early to late summer and attract bees. Reimer Kordes bred it in 1960.

Pairs well with Bartzella peony, Lily, and Korean spice viburnum.
