Notes

'Alice’s Plum' peony (Paeonia lactiflora Alices Plum) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers are dark red with purple undertones and golden-yellow edging on some petals. They open in late spring and smell fragrant. The upright plants need no support, and the blooms keep well in a vase.

Pairs well with Monkshood, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Japanese spirea.
