Notes

'Alicia' heather (Calluna vulgaris 'Alicia') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It stays evergreen and blooms in summer and again in autumn, so bees find flowers for months. It sits low on the menu for deer. Give it a spot where its ascending stems have room to grow.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Rose Glow Japanese barberry, and Greig's tulip.
