Notes

'Alsace-Lorraine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Alsace-Lorraine') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flower gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, double, pure white flowers have cream and buff tints in the center and open in late spring. Their fragrance is strong and bitter. The stems are willowy and can sprawl, so you may want to support them.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Christmas fern.
