Notes
'Amabile' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Amabile') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, blush pink flowers open in early to mid spring, with violet-red flares at the base of each petal. The petals are held cupped, and each stem carries one flower. Irmtraud Rieck bred it.
Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Toad lily, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
