Notes

'Amelia' peony (Paeonia 'Amelia') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it, and the deep red blooms reach 5½ inches across. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Strong stems hold the flowers on plants 36 inches tall or more.

Pairs well with Royal Standard hosta, Spiked speedwell, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
