Notes
'American Goldfinch' wild indigo (Baptisia 'American Goldfinch') is a perennial. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. Golden yellow flower spikes appear in early to late summer and attract bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Black seed pods follow the flowers, and the plant dislikes being moved once established.
Pairs well with Purple lovegrass, Purple milkweed, Ornamental onion, and Cushion spurge.
