Notes
'Amethyst Bunting' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Amethyst Bunting') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Chen Dezhong bred it, and it blooms in early to mid spring. Each stem carries one white flower with a frilly band of light purple in the center. It has a low tendency to sucker, so it needs little pruning.
Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Toad lily, and Anglojap yew.
