Notes

'Amethyst' sage (Salvia nemorosa 'Amethyst') is a clumping perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the fragrant flowers from early to late summer. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It also tolerates drought, so it suits low care beds.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Garden phlox, and Amsonia.
