Notes
'Caradonna' sage (Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and xeriscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its purple stems, buds, and flowers form neat, upright spires that bloom over a long time and rebloom if you deadhead them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Keep the soil lean so the stems stay upright.
Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Stargazer lily, and Bowl of Beauty peony.
