Notes

'Amsterdam' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Amsterdam') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant flowers open in light blue-pink from early to late spring. Bees visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Autumn Frost hosta, and Prairie dropseed.
