Notes

'Apollo' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Apollo') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The fragrant flowers are neyron rose, edged paler, and open in early to late spring. Bees visit the blooms, and this hyacinth is an early forcing type.

Pairs well with Greig's tulip, Blue fescue, and Bowl of Beauty peony.
