Notes

'Angelic Burgundy' peony (Paeonia 'Angelic Burgundy') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The burgundy-red flowers are single to semi-double, face upward, and attract bees and butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Roger F. Anderson bred it.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Polish Spirit clematis, and Magnus coneflower.
