Notes
'Ann Rutledge' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ann Rutledge') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. W. E. Lanigan bred it. The double blooms open in late spring with cream-white guards tinted light pink and a faint fragrance. This dwarf plant has willowy stems and good foliage.
Pairs well with Phantom panicle hydrangea, Royal fern, Spanish bluebell, and Virginia rose.
