Notes

'Anthem' peony (Paeonia 'Anthem') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Tall stems carry fragrant, pale lavender pink flowers 9 inches across with yellow and lavender centers. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Professor Arthur Percy Saunders bred it from a seedling of 'Chalice'.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Annabelle hydrangea, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
