Notes

'Antigone' peony (Paeonia 'Antigone') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The golden-yellow single blooms look like pure gold and attract butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Nassos Daphnis bred it, and each strong stem carries one bud.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Jeana garden phlox, Christmas fern, and Nelly Moser clematis.
