Notes

'Aotearoa' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Aotearoa') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its white flowers have ruffled petals, so they stand out in a bouquet or a border. Derek Irvine bred it in 2001.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Halcyon hosta, Greig's tulip, and Prairie dropseed.
