Notes
'Apple Slices' Indian pink (Spigelia marilandica 'Apple Slices') is a perennial for accents, shade gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet soil. Red flowers with yellow throats open from early to late summer. Hummingbirds and birds visit the blooms, and the clumping plant tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Lady fern, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Bloodroot.
